Abstract
Volleyball is a team sport, so players must work together and support each other to become a cohesive team. Thus, to become a compact team or team, all players must have good volleyball skills. The skills of a volleyball player are used to master the basic techniques in volleyball, namely passing, serving, block and smash. The purpose of this research is to find out how good the basic engineering skills are in the students of the Men's Sports Talent Interest of the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The method in this study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of this study are based on the results of the analysis of the research data description from upper passing, lower passing, upper service, lower service and smash show that the category of students interested in Men's Sports Talents, University Muhammadiyah of Surakarta "Very Well" with a score of 4.6%, then 7 people were included in the "Good" category with a score of 31.8%, as many as 14 people in the sample were included in the "Medium" category with a value of 63.6%, as many as 0 people in the sample were included in the category of less with a value of 0.00%, and 0 sample people were included in the category of less than with a value of 0.00%.
