Abstract
Sultan Agung Stadium, located in Kapanewon Jetis, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, is one of the historic sports facilities in Yogyakarta. However, based on the results of the Post-Occupancy Evaluation (EPH), the condition of the building is categorized as "poor" in technical, functional, and behavioral aspects. The main problems identified include physical degradation of the building, inadequate drainage system, spectator discomfort due to the absence of a grandstand roof, lack of universal accessibility, and low activity levels in the area outside of match days. This design aims to comprehensively Redesign Sultan Agung Stadium by applying a Sustainable Architecture approach as the main concept. The design method is carried out through site analysis, a study of Redesign theory and sustainable architecture, a study of modern stadium precedents in Indonesia, as well as references to SNI regulations, FIFA Stadium Guidelines 2022, and the Bantul Regency RTRW. The design results produce an integrated stadium concept that rests on three main pillars: sustainability-based Redesign, local identity as a design character, and the transformation of the stadium into an integrated public space. The implementation of sustainability principles is realized through a solar panel system on the roof of the full-coverage stands, rainwater harvesting, the use of permeable paving, GRC panel facades with Bantul batik motifs, and a cantilevered space frame roof structure made of recycled steel. The 142,620.88 m² area is developed into five integrated zones that include the main stadium, commercial and MSMEs, supporting sports, parking, and green open spaces, so as to be able to activate the area socially and economically around the clock.
