Abstract
Kurikulum Merdeka requires the learning process, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), to be guided by three principles of deep learning: mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. A preliminary questionnaire at SMK Gajah Mungkur 1 Wuryantoro indicated that the achievement of these three principles ware not yet optimally achieved.. Meanwhile, a survey showed that 97% of tenth-grade students already owned Android-based devices, opening an opportunity to implement an Android-based Learning Management System (LMS) as a supporting learning medium. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of an Android-based Learning Management System (LMS), "Al Ilmi LMS," in enhancing mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning in Islamic Religious Education at SMK Gajah Mungkur 1 Wuryantoro. This research employed a quantitative method with an experimental approach. The study was conducted during the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at SMK Gajah Mungkur 1 Wuryantoro. The population consisted of all tenth-grade students. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, resulting in class X TKR 1 as the control group (conventional learning) and class X TKR 2 as the experimental group (learning assisted by the Android-based "Al Ilmi LMS"), with 29 students in each group. The research instruments included a deep-learning questionnaire (covering mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning). Data analysis techniques included a prerequisite test (normality), the N-Gain test, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-Test. The results showed that the experimental class experienced significant improvements in all three aspects. Mindful learning increased from an average of 3.33 to 4.17 (N‑Gain=0.500, medium category, p=0.000), meaningful learning from 3.43 to 4.16 (N‑Gain=0.464, medium, p=0.000), and joyful learning from 3.33 to 4.25 (N‑Gain=0.550, medium, p=0.000). In contrast, the control class only experienced a small increase (low N‑Gain: 0.036–0.123). Overall, the total N‑Gain value of the experimental class of 0.505 (medium) was much higher than that of the control class of 0.064 (low). The difference in improvement between the two classes was proven significant (t-test, p<0.05 for all three aspects). Thus, the use of the LMS “Al Ilmi” is effective in improving mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning of Islamic Education students. The biggest improvement occurred in the joyful learning aspect, which shows that the LMS succeeded in creating a more enjoyable learning atmosphere for students
