Abstract
Content containing mental health information was found on the TikTok social media platform. The emergence of #kesehatanmental on the platform shows that many TikTok users are interested in mental health topics. This research aims to find out and describe a condition of user interaction with content with #kesehatanmental. By exploring audience perceptions of content with #kesehatanmental on the TikTok platform. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive study to explain and describe a situation as it is. The theoretical framework underlying this research is user perception theory, which states that individuals actively seek media to fulfill information needs around mental health. The findings show that the popularity of content with mental illness information attracts more audience attention. The tendency to equate mental health and mental illness means that audiences seeking mental health information through #kesehatanmental on the TikTok platform are actually getting information from content containing mental illness. And the lack of a clear warning not to self-diagnosis triggers audiences to do so through the comment section.
