Abstract

The outbreak of the new corona virus or commonly referred to as covid 19 is currently spreading throughout the world, including Indonesia. There are so many public service advertisements that invite to anticipate the spread of the new corona virus in Indonesia. The purposes of this study are (1) to find out the conversational implicatures based on the violation of the cooperative principle (maxim) in public service advertisements for the prevention of the new corona virus in Indonesia, (2) to determine the function of conversational implicatures in public service advertisements for the prevention of the new corona virus in Indonesia. This type of research is qualitative research. This qualitative research is used to analyze all forms of communication, while the design of this research is literature study. In conducting this research, starting in November, this research refers to public service advertisements for the prevention of the new corona virus in Indonesia. The subject of the research is a public service advertisement to overcome the corona virus in Indonesia which contains conversational implicatures in it. The object of this research is the form of conversational implicatures that exist in public service advertisements for the prevention of the new corona virus in Indonesia. Research data are in the form of speech, speech, words, sentences obtained by observing public service advertisements anticipating the spread of the new corona virus in Indonesia and then using the note-taking technique. to record utterances that contain conversational implicatures. The data sources are obtained from television and youtube. The data collection technique uses observation techniques, see note, documentation. The results of this study from 48 analyzed data, found 4 types of violations of the cooperative principle of conversational implicature, including: 7 violations of the maxim of quantity, 6 violations of quality, 16 violations of the maxim of relevance, 19 violations of the maxim of implementation, and also found 7 functions of conversational implicatures in service advertisements. The public anticipates the spread of the new corona virus in Indonesia, these functions include: demoralizing, entertaining, mocking, comparing, motivating, finding out, and scolding.
