Abstract
The purpose of research 1) examining the differences in students' abilities in solving PISA-oriented questions in terms of learning motivation, (2) Analyzing the mistakes made by students in solving PISA-oriented math story questions in terms of learning motivation based on the Newman method (3) Describe the causes of student errors in doing math-oriented problems PISA. This type of research uses the mix method research method. Data collection techniques using test, documentation, observation, and interview methods. The data analysis technique uses the T-test and flow model. Result of research, (1) there is an effect of student motivation on student work results. (2) 20% of the mistakes made by students with high learning motivation were wrong to draw conclusions. Students with moderate learning motivation 9.70% reading errors, 10% understanding errors, 10.91% planning errors, 10% arithmetic operations errors and 14.55% errors drawing conclusions. Students with low learning motivation showed 18.3% reading errors, 18.3% reading errors, 18.3% understanding errors, 18.3% planning errors, 18.3% arithmetic operations errors, and 15% drawing conclusions errors. (3) the factors that cause mistakes made by students are low comprehension ability, unable to understand key words well, not accustomed to writing what they know precisely, students are not careful, students are not used to writing conclusions in the final answer.
