Abstract

The tracer study of alumni is considered very important given the lack of sufficient information about alumni. The purpose of this study was to find out: 1) Alumni profile, 2) Evaluation of alumni regarding learning methods, 3) Absence of alumni in the work enviroment, 4) Relevance of curriculum to work, 5) Alumni competence and work enviroment needs. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods. Respondents in this study were all alumni of Ners Profession Program Faculty of Health Science Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta Graduate Year 2016-2018 with a population of 341 alumni. Determination of research subjects by purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 85 alumni. Data was collected using a questionnaire in the form of Google distributed to all alumni. The results showed that: 1) Alumni profiles of female respondents 44 respondents, male gender 41 respondents, alumni with the highest percentage, graduates in 2018 (36.5%). 2) Emphasis of learning aspects which were considered very large was field work (38.8%) and practicum (35.3%). 3) As many as 88.2% of the alumni have worked and 11.8% did not work the highest because they were still studying / continuing college. Alumni who have worked, 81.2% work as nurses and most work in Central Java with an average salary of Rp. 2611647.06. Alumni find the most jobs through the internet / online advertising with work waiting periods of 3-6 months (45.9%), <3 months (40%) and 7-12 months (14.1%). The average number of applications was 3.98, the number who responded was 3.22 and the number who interviewed was 3.09. 4) The level of suitability of education with employment is very large (65.8%). 5) Alumni competence is still lacking compared to the competencies needed in the world of work. Things that need to be improved from alumni competence are knowledge in the field of science, knowledge outside the field of science, English, leadership and the ability to write reports.
