Abstract
This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills of grade VIII junior high school students in solving Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) oriented geometry questions. This type of research is a case study with a qualitative approach. The research was conducted at SMPN 2 Jaten with 6 out of 26 students as subjects who were divided into 3 categories, namely students with low, medium, and high ability. Data collection techniques consist of written test methods, interviews on the subject, and documentation. Qualitative data analysis techniques use the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of students with low abilities did not meet the indicators of conclusions, situations, and clarity. Meanwhile, subjects with moderate abilities did not meet the situation and clarity indicators. Finally, subjects with high abilities meet all indicators of critical thinking skills.
