Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between self-confidence and social media addiction. The sample used in this study were students with 117 respondents as a subject. Based on the results of research that has been done that. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a relationship between self-confidence and addiction to social media. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. This study uses two scales, consisting of a self-confidence scale and a social media addiction scale. The data analysis technique in this study uses Product Moment. Based on the results obtained the correlation coefficient value (-0.436) with sig = 0.000 (p <0.01) which shows a very significant negative relationship between self-confidence and social media addiction, the higher the self-confidence, the lower the social media addiction. The results of the categorization show the level of confidence in the high category. Keywords: Student, Confidence, Social Media Addiction
