Abstract

The aims of this research are to describe the students’ error and analyze the factors that cause of the students’ error in solving logarithm function. This type of research is descriptive qualitative involving 34 students from the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukodono. Data collection techniques in this research with test method, interviews, and documentation. Technique of analyzing data in this research include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that students’ errors in solving logarithm function questions, included: (1) symbol error of 16,33%, (2) process error of 58,16%, and (3) computation error of 25,51%. The factors that cause students to make mistake in solving logarithm function questions include: lack of understanding students about the meaning of symbols, students are in a hurry to solving the problems, understanding of the subject matter and prerequisite materials are still low, and lack of understanding of the basics calculation.
