Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-control and aggressive driving behavior in students. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a negative relationship between self-control and aggressive driving behavior. Subjects in this study are as many as 100 students who use motorbikes so this research uses Purposive Sampling technique. Data collection tool in this study uses a scale of self-control and aggressive driving behavior. Data analysis techniques used non-parametric from Kendall’s. Based on the results of the analysis obtained from this study, the correlation (r) = -0.542 with sig (p) = 0,000, which means there is a significant negative correlation / correlation between self-control and aggressive driving behavior. The level of student self-control is moderate and the level of aggressive driving behavior of students is moderate. The effective contribution of self-control to aggressive driving behavior is 60.2% which means that there are 39.8% of other factors that influence aggressive driving behavior.
