Abstract

The research has two objectives. (1) describes the use of code mixed forms in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari; (2) Describe the function of code change in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this study were obtained from the dialogue of characters and story descriptions in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari. The technique of collecting data uses library techniques and note taking techniques. The data analysis technique used is flow analysis models. Based on the results of the study found mixed code in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari collected 84 code mixed. Mix the most code, which is mixed word code, there are 53. Mixed code in the form of phrases there are 18. Mix code clause There are 13. The function of the background code mix replaces the mixed code in the Aroma Karsa novel is (a) showing identity, (b) emphasizing something, (c) facilitating delivery or intent, (d) discussing a particular topic, (e) vocabulary needs, (f) refine the speech, and (g) respect the interlocutor.
