Abstract
The purpose of this study are: 1) to describe the occurrence of burnout in certified teachers; 2) to describe how teachers deal with burnout period after getting certified. This type of study is qualitative using ethnographic design. Data collection techniques used are observation and interviews. The subjects of this study are certified economic teachers, students of the certified economic teachers and colleagues from certified economic teachers in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar. The data analysis method of the study are data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The results of this research indicate that: 1) the occurrence of burnout in certified teachers is shown by feeling tired with a high load of teaching hours, teachers only give assignments, rowdy classroom conditions that make teachers less sensitive to the surrounding conditions and age factors that result in teachers just using the lecture method that causes students to feel bored; 2) how to teachers deal with burnout after certification can be done with: overcoming the problems calmly; creating a relaxed atmosphere with their students and understand their students well.
