Abstract

This study aims to describe the processes, constraints, and solutions of the role of UMS Menwa student organizations in developing the character of responsibility for members of the 2018/2019 class that have been obtained. The design in this study uses an interactive qualitative approach with a case study form, data collection in this study using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis applies interactive models through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, data validity with source and technique triangulation. The results of the study on the role of UMS Menwa student organizations on the development of the character of responsibility for members of the 2018/2019 class, indicate that there is a character development of responsibilities that occur when participating in Menwa activities. The members have a greater sense of responsibility such as being able to do the task on time, doing the task in accordance with the instructions, working on the work of their own work, doing the task and command well, being responsible for every action done, working on the task according to schedule , and work on group orders and assignments together. This is because the seniors always provide direction and guidance to each member of the Menwa. Constraints faced by UMS Menwa student organizations in developing character responsibilities for members are thoughts that are not in accordance with Menwa conditions, assume too military and rigid, lecture schedules that sometimes collide with Menwa activity schedules, and follow organizations other than Menwa. The solution to the constraints faced by UMS Menwa student organizations in developing the character of responsibility for members is to be more open and reduce the military element in each Menwa sponsored poster, if there is a colliding schedule then they will take classes in other classes, and share time when participating in other organizations Menwa.
