Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the socio-historical background of Andrea Hirata, (2) to describe the structure that built the novel by Patriot Elite by Andrea Hirata, (3) to describe the social values contained in Andrea Hirata's novel by Elita Patriot in terms of literary sociology, 4) to describe the implementation of the social value of Elita Patriot's novel by Andrea Hirata in a literary study in junior high school. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. This study is a single stuck case study. The data in this research are the words, phrases, clauses, sentences and discourses contained in Elita Patriot's novel by Andrea Hirata that are relevant to the object of research. Data collection techniques include library techniques, refer to, and record. This research uses one kind of triangulation, that is source triangulation. Data analysis technique in this research using dialectic technique. The results of this study can be concluded that: (1) Andrea Hirata's sociohistorical setting concerns four things, namely curriculum vitae, the work of the author, the author's socio-cultural setting and the characteristics of authorship. (2) The constructive structure in the Sebelas Patriot novel by Andrea Hirata contains the themes and facts of the story The theme of Andrea Hirata's Eleven Patriot novel is about the struggle and hard work of a child for the happiness of his father. The path used in Andrea Hirata's novel Eleven Patriot is a progressive or progressive flow. Prominent figures are Ikal, additional characters namely Father, Coach Toharun and Adriana. The timeframe that happened was the year 2000-2005. The background of the place in Andrea Hirata's Eleven Patriot novel is generally located in Belitung and Europe with places like Belitung and France. While the social setting in this novel takes a social background on the life of Ikal from the middle to lower class. (3) The social aspect in the novel of El Patriot by Andrea Hirata includes 1) a social process consisting of two scopes of cooperation, contradiction and akoamodasi, 2) social change, 3) social problems including poverty, and 4) social structure covering social layer . (4) The results of this study can also be implemented into Indonesian language lessons in junior high school especially in class VIII with KI KD class VIII Indonesian language subjects. KI used in this study on the Indonesian language class VIII semester 1 aspects of reading that is 7. Understanding drama text and novel adolescents. While the KD used in this research is 7.1 Identify the intrinsic elements of the drama text and 7.2 Create synopsis of adolescent novels Indonesia. This is in accordance with the three criteria of teaching materials, namely language, psychology and cultural setting.
