Abstract

This study aims to improve the activity of learning mathematics through generative learning model in grade VII F students of SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura in odd semester. This research conducted collaboratively between researcher and mathematics teacher. Recipients of the action are the student of class VII F SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura as many as 32 students and the doer is researcher. Data collection techniques in this study using interview, observation, field notes, documentation, and test. Data analysis techniques used in this study are reduction, presentation and conclusion. The result of this research are the increase of student learning activity of mathematics, it can be seen from each of the following indicators, (1) student activities in expressing opinions before the action as many as two students (6,25%) and after the action as many as twenty students (62,5%), (2) student activities in asking questions before the action as many as three students (9,375%) and after the action as many as twenty-three students (71,875%), (3) student activities in working on the problem before the action as many as four students (12,5%) and after the action as many as twenty-six students (81,25%), (4) student activities in participating with the group before the action as many as four students (12,5%) and after the action as many as twenty-eight students (87,5%).
