Abstract
This study aims to know the improvement of critical thinking skills of students using Accelarated Learning model type MASTER. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. The subject of the recipients of the action are the students of class VIII A SMP N 2 Gatak Sukoharjo amounting to 32 students and teacher of Class VIII A. Data collection techniques are done through interview, observation, test, and documentation. Data analysis technique is done descriptively qualitative with cycle model, that is data analyzed since learning action implemented and developed during learning process. The result of this study indicate an increase in the abiliti of critical thinking before the action until the action is complete. This can be seen from the indicated of critical thinking such as: 1) able to identify problems clearly and logically from 7 students (21,87%) increased to 19 students (59,38%) 2) interest in asking questions from 9 students (28,12%) increased to 20 students (62,5%) 3) able to resolve in different ways from 8 students (25%) increased to 18 students (56,25%) 4) able to givereason for answers from 12 students (37,5%) increased to 25 students (78,13%) dan 5) able to draw conclusions from a mathematical probem from 10 students (31,25%) increased to 24 students (75%).
