Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe the form of directive speech acts in Ahmad Fuadi's Anak Rantau novel, (2) Describe the values contained in Ahmad Fuadi's Anak Rantau novel. (3) Identifying the novel relationship between Anak Rantau by Ahmad Fuadi and learning. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection method applied in this study is the referral method with the advanced technique noted. The data collected was then analyzed using the agih method and the matching method. The form of speech acts contained in Ahmad Fuadi's Novel Anak Rantau is 79 utterances. Based on the classification results that have been carried out there are five classifications, 29 utterances govern (against his father, eat mouth, pack, take candy, greet his grandfather, see his grandson, leave his child, sit together, wear pants, go into the room, shut up, finish off the child) children), 15 speeches give advice (move the Hepi school, forget his wife, get better, be responsible, not angry, make friends with anyone, don't humble yourself, don't stay up late, be careful), 13 begging begs (breakfast together, sorry, see eagles fly, stop fighting, don't pack, leave permission, release, save their grandchildren), order 11 utterances (reciting at surau, picking up the ball later, cutting nails, turning waves, closing doors, not disturbing Pandeka, writing letters), and 11 utterances sue (taste of food, return to Jakarta, join a team, recite, read one page, apologize, promise, study). Directive speech acts in the novel Anak Rantau by Ahmad Fuadi can be implemented in Indonesian language learning at the level of high school (SMA) class I XI semester 2013 Curriculum at Core Competencies (KI) 3 and Basic Competencies (KD) 3.7.
