Abstract

This research is about to analyze the inner conflicts of the main character in Wonderful Life novel by Amalia Prabowo. The aims of this research are(1) to describe the structure of Wonderful Life novel based on the literary psychology perspective, (2) to describe the spiritual conflict of the main character in Wonderful Life novel by Amalia Prabowo based on the literary psychology perspective, (3) to describe the implementation of the spiritual conflict of the main character in Wonderful Life novel as a literary teaching material in SMK. The method of this research used descriptive qualitative method. The object of this research is the inner conflict of the main character in Wonderful Life novel, with the text of Wonderful Life novel as the object study. This novel published by Grafika Mardi Yuana with 175 pages. The technique of collecting data was using library research method, pay attention to the speaker, noting, interviewing and questioning. The technique of validity data was using triangulation method. The technique of analysis data was using the reading semiotic models. Based on the analysis that have been done, the results can be summarized as : (1) In structural, the plot process in the novel Wonderful life is forward plot. The character in the novel consists of the main character is Amalia and the additional character such as; Father, first Husband, second husband, Syafiqurachman, Aqil, Satria, Dewi and Endang as thesister of Amalia, mother, teachers, Linda. The background place are at the home, the school, the metropolitan city or Jakarta, the company,the clinical therapy, the forest and the mountains, and also in the tourist attractions. The social background are life existence in Jakarta, tourist areas, mountain and forest wich are exiat in the Java island . (2) the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Wonderful Life, there are three aspects of (a) The approach-approch conflict, (b) The approch-avoidance conflic, (c) The avoidance-avoidance conflict. (3) the results of the inner conflict of the main character in the Wonderful Life novel based on literary psychology aspect is relevance as a teaching literature at SMK. Some aspects need to be considered in the from of language, maturity of psychology, and students cultural background. In accordance with the KD 3.3 analyze the history, news, advertisements, editorial/opinion texts, and fiction stories in the novel, both oral and written.
