Abstract

The purpose of this study were (1) the structure of the poem in a collection of poems Ujung Waktu works Untung Wardojo, (2) the imagery in the collection of poems Ujung Waktu works Untung Wardojo, (3) figure of speech in the collection of poems Ujung Waktu works Untung Wardojo and (4) implementation of the imagery and the figure of speech in the collection of poems Ujung Waktu works Untung Wardojo as eighth grade students teaching materials. This research is a Qualitative research. The study design used is descriptive qualitative. Source of research data is poetry collection Ujung Waktu works Untung Wardojo. Data in the form of couplets and barisyang contains imagery and figure of speech. Technique data collecting techniques refer to note, wanwancara and literature. Data analysis techniques used in this study is a qualitative technique. To test keabasahan researchers data using triangulation techniques and the theory of triangulation data. The results of this study were (1) the inner structure of the poem in the form of theme (fidelity, natural beauty, struggle, affection, divinity, etc.), taste (awe, longing, affection, divinity, happy, moved, etc.), tone (invite, admire, patronizing, telling etc) and commission (invite towards goodness among others, to always remember to Allah Swt.). (2) images were found among other visual images, auditory imagery, motion imagery, tactile imagery, imagery foretaste, and intellectual imagery. (3) figure of speech which is found among other metaphor, simile, personification, metonymy, and sinekdoki. (4) the material images and figure of speech included in the Basic Competency 3.7, 3.8, 4.7, 4.8 Curriculum 2013 revised edition for the junior class VIII and tangible teaching materials Handouts And Student Worksheet (LKS).
