Abstract
The purpose of this research is to know improving the ability of conceptual understanding and reasoning ability through genius learning stratgy. The study uses classroom action research methode carry out two cycles. The subject of research is students and mathematics teacher of XI TKR 1 graduate, Vocational High School 1 of Blora in 2017/2018 academic year. The techniques of data collecting are observation, test, and document. The technique of data analysing is plot technique, consist of three plot are analysing data process, data presentation, and data verificatian. The result of research shows the increasing ability of conceptual understanding, it can be shown by 1) the ability to explain repeatedly, raised up from 34,38% to 78,13%, 2) the ability to mention example and non example of a concept, raised up from 28,13% to 81,25%, 3) the ability to apply concept or algorithm in problem, raised up from 31,25% to 71,88%. The increasing ability of reasoning ability, it can be shown by 1) the ability to make hypotheses, raised up from 28,13% to 81,25%, 2) the ability to arrange proof and give reason to the truth of solution, raised up from 28,13% to 75%, 3) the ability to make a conclusion, raised up from 31,25% to 71,88%,. The research has conclusion that genius learning strategy can be improving the ability of conceptual understanding and reasoning in students of XI TKR 1 grade, SMK Negeri 1 Blora, exspecially for transformation.
