Abstract

Teenagers, including those in Indonesia, are increasingly exhibiting consumptive behavior. This research seeks to investigate how self-control and conformity impact the consumer behavior of BTS fan students in Surakarta. This research employed a correlational method with a quantitative approach, including 120 college student who are BTS fans. The findings indicate that self-control significantly affects consumer behavior, with those possessing strong self-control being more likely to resist impulsive buying. Apart from that, conformity also has a significant influence, where pressure to conform to social or group norms can encourage individuals to buy goods in accordance with social expectations. The interplay between self-control and conformity also affects consumer behavior, as individuals may experience a conflict between their personal self-control and the pressure to conform to their group. This research highlights the importance of managing self-control and recognizing conformity pressures in guiding student’s consumer behavior.
