Abstract

Physical Education taught in schools plays a very important role, providing opportunities for students to engage directly in various learning experiences through selected physical activities, sports, and health conducted systematically (Gustiawati et al., 2014). The implementation of physical education learning requires an appropriate learning model to ensure the process runs well, is structured, and informative. However, a deep and comprehensive understanding of the concept alone is not sufficient to teach physical education effectively. Teachers must also understand the learning model. The Physical Education Learning Model is a physical education learning activity intentionally designed to ensure that the teaching and learning process can be easily understood and accepted by students (Uno, H. B et al., 2018). The purpose of this research is to identify the physical education learning model applied at the Sanggar Bimbingan Hulu Kelang in Malaysia and the impact of this model on the physical and mental development of students. This study is categorized as qualitative research, using a descriptive approach. This approach utilizes in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis to explore the meaning and context underlying behavior and educational processes. Data validity in this study uses Triangulation, specifically method triangulation and source triangulation. The data analysis techniques in this research involve several methods to gain a deep and comprehensive understanding. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive analysis. This research involves 16 key informants who participated in interviews and filled out questionnaires. The interview subjects included administrators, teachers, and volunteers. The data presented consists of descriptive data and arguments and statements from the key informants. In the data collection process, the researcher used Zoom meetings and Google Forms to facilitate communication between the researcher and the key informants. Data collection was carried out in a structured and systematic manner, with each key informant having a schedule for interviews and questionnaire completion according to an initial agreement between the researcher and each informant. The Physical Education Learning Model at the Sanggar Bimbingan Hulu Kelang in Malaysia is indicated to use a combination of various learning strategies such as an integrated learning model, flexibility in teaching, emphasis on health and fitness, active student involvement, formative and summative evaluation, and collaboration between teachers and relevant parties. By optimally utilizing available resources and applying innovative approaches, this model can be more effective in enhancing students' understanding, skills, and interest in physical education. The application of various learning models has a significant impact on the physical and mental development of students at the Sanggar Bimbingan Hulu Kelang. For example, in terms of physical development, through regular exercise and teaching about healthy lifestyles, children can improve their physical fitness and develop motor skills. Additionally, the impact on the mental development of students is seen in active student engagement and collaboration between teachers and relevant parties, which positively influences the mental development of students at the Sanggar Bimbngan Hulu Kelang through discussion, reflection, and continuous assessment.
