Abstract
Adolescent girls are one of the groups that are prone to anemia. The prevalence of anemia at SMA 1 Nguter Sukoharjo in 2015 was still relatively high at 51%. Nutrients that play a role in the process of forming hemoglobin are protein and folic acid. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between intake of protein and folic acid with hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls at SMA 1 Nguter Sukoharjo. This type of research is analytic observational with cross sectional research design. The total sample of 74 respondents was selected by simple random sampling. Data on protein and folic acid intake were obtained used the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) form in the last 3 months and hemoglobin levels used the Cyanmethemoglobin method. Data were analysed with the corelatio of spearman. Subjects with abnormal hemoglobin levels were 36,5%. The level of protein intake is less than 40.5% and folic acid intake is less than 67.6%. The results showed that there was a relationship between protein intake and hemoglobin levels (p=0.000) and there was no relationship between folic acid intake and hemoglobin levels (p=0.232).
