Abstract
Social stratification is a common social issue from year to year in society. The effect of social stratification itself is hazardous for society, especially for those directly affected by it. This research aims to analyze the indicators and effects of social stratification portrayed in Harry Bradbeer’s Enola Holmes movie, released in 2020. Enola Holmes movie is set in the Victorian era in the late 19th century. The detailed purposes of this research are: 1) To identify the indicators of social stratification in Enola Holmes movie, 2) To describe the political implications on the lower class people shown in the Enola Holmes movie, and 3) To identify Harry Bradbeer’s intention of showing social stratification in his movie. The type of this study is a literary study, and the method of collecting data in this research are document analysis and copy-paste. While analyzing the data, the researchers used the content analysis technique. The result of this research is that two indicators reflect the social stratification in the Enola Holmes movie. The first is through the character, and the second is through the special event. The political impact on the lower class is the injustice of regulation in England. Because the injustice regulation which only profitable for the upper class, the lower class makes some noise with demonstrations and radical movements.
