Abstract
Work stress is one of the biggest problems in agencies or organizations that have a direct impact on satisfaction and performance within agencies, the police are one of the agencies that have a large workload that must protect and maintain order in society so that members of the police often experience stress overwork resulting from boredom and lack of social support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between boredom and social support with work stress. This study used a correlational quantitative approach with the criteria for a sample of Central Java Regional Police HR bureau employees who were willing to fill out informed consent. The number of samples used was 52 subjects on population. The research instrument used a scale of boredom, social support, and work stress in the form of a questionnaire and distributed directly. The analysis technique of this research uses multiple linear regression. Based on the results of the major hypothesis test, the research that has been carried out in the form of obtained F count data is 46,830 and a significance of 0.000, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between boredom and social support on the work stress of the Central Java Regional Police HR staff. The results of the study support the first minor hypothesis that the burnout variable (X1) has a partial relationship with work stress, with r = 0.191, a significance of 0.000 (p <0.05) indicating that burnout has a significant relationship with work stress. While the second minor hypothesis that social support variable (X2) has a partially positive relationship with learning motivation. This is indicated by r = -0.464, a significance value of p = 0.034 (p <0.05) indicating that social support has a negative relationship with work stress.
