Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the effect of online learning on strengthening the character of student responsibility, (2) the effect of relationships between family members on strengthening the character of student responsibility, (3) the effect of online learning and relationships between family members on strengthening the character of student responsibility. at MTs Negeri 8 Kebumen. The type of research used is quantitative. The participants in this study are students that are enrolled in MTs Negeri 8 Kebumen during the 2022/2023 school year. 77 people participated in this research and were included in the sample. The method of sampling used quota purposive random sampling, in which the sample was carried out by first establishing the quota, and then carrying out the sampling based on random criteria. Students at MTs Negeri 8 Kebumen were polled using a questionnaire handed out in person. The survey was printed on A4-sized HVS paper. Normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and homoscedasticity tests are used as a prerequisite. Several statistical methods including the multiple linear regression test, the F test, the t test, and the coefficient of determination were utilized in the investigation (R2). The results showed that: (1) The F test showed Fcount of 4.042 which was greater than the Ftable of 3.12. This shows that the variables of online learning and the relationship between family members affect the variable of strengthening the character of students' responsibility. (2) Learning over the internet may have an effect on a person's overall character development by helping them become more responsible. The ttable, results reveal that the tcount result for the online learning variable is 2.761, and this number is higher than the ttable,, which is 1.995. This can be observed by looking at the results of the t-test. (3) The closeness of the relationships that exist within a family has a positive impact on the development of a character that is characterized by a sense of responsibility. This can be observed by looking at the results of the t-test, which reveal that the value of the result of tcount variables for the association between family members is 3.441, and that this number is higher than t-table, which is 1995.
