Abstract

Objective: This study was to determine the mastery of geometry using visual media in children aged 5-6 years in Kindergarten Aisyah II Kartasura. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The object of this research includes the implementation of learning during the pandemic at Aisyah II Kindergarten, Makam Haji Surakarta. The subjects of this study were the principal and teachers of Kindergarten Aisyah II. The researcher's primary data was obtained from observing the planning and learning process of geometry using visual media. Sources of research obtained from interviews with teachers, principals, documentation and other data related to the mastery of geometry using visual media in children aged 5-6 years. To test the validity of the data, researchers used source triangulation and data analysis, namely: data presentation, and data verification. Discussion: research shows that children's development in the face-to-face and online period can develop well with the use of media that is in accordance with the curriculum, namely visual media made by classroom teachers. The school also holds face-to-face meetings once a week to see the child's development firsthand. Conclusion: the mastery of geometry using visual media in children aged 5-6 years at Aisyah II Kartasura Kindergarten shows its optimality in the pre-pandemic and pandemic periods.
