Abstract

This research was motivated by the need to increase knowledge about volcanic eruptions , considering that Boyolali District is an area that vulnerable to volcanic eruptions. This study aims to (1) find out the development of flash cs6 animation-based video instructional media about volcanic eruption disasters in class VII student learning outcomes in MTs N Tinawas Nogosari Boyolali (2) know the difference in learning outcomes of students of class VII MTs N Tinawas Boyolali before using video media and after using video. This type of research was Research and Development (R n D), with the Borg and Gall model. The subjects of this study were grade VII students of MTs N Tinawas Boyolali, social studies teachers of class VII. The results showed (1) that the development of video instructional media using the Borg and Gall model of media had gone through the validation stage by media experts and material experts with an average value of 4.6 in the "Good" category (2) there was differences in student learning outcomes in the control class and the experimental class in the material of volcanic eruption disaster with the following results: the experimental class was treated (video) there was a difference that the pretest’s an average value of 57 and the posttest’s an average value of 80 While the control class without treatment with an average achievement score of 58 and posttest’s an average score of 61. Then it can be concluded that there was an increase in knowledge about the volcanic eruption after receiving treatment using video at instructional media.
