Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the application of the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) learning model in empowering the critical thinking skills of the students of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sragen. The design of this research is survey research. The subject of this research is SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sragen Academic Year 2020/2021. Data collection techniques used are interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the t-count for the PMRI (X) model variable was 1.612 with a significant value of 0.116 which was above 0.05. This shows that the PMRI model has no significant effect on students' critical thinking skills. Based on the results of statistical calculations obtained the value of Fcount < Ftable (2,599 < 4,139) in other words there is no influence between the PMRI model on students' critical thinking skills simultaneously. In addition, it can be seen that the significance value = 0.166 > 0.05 or it can be said that the regression coefficient is not significant. The adjusted R2 value is 0.045. This shows that the PMRI model on critical thinking skills is 04.5% while the remaining 95.5% is influenced by other factors that are not included in the regression model. The results of observations and interviews show that the PMRI model syntax is considered to have clear, systematic, logical stages, and can be used to measure critical thinking skills.
