Abstract

The design of an Integrated Inclusive Kindergarten–Elementary School in Boyolali Regency is driven by the high demand for inclusive educational services that remain inadequately fulfilled, particularly for children with special needs. This project aims to provide an educational facility that accommodates diverse student characteristics within a unified campus while ensuring learning continuity between kindergarten and elementary levels. The healing environment concept serves as the foundational design framework to enhance users' physical, psychological, and emotional well-being through the optimization of natural lighting, ventilation, vegetation, and noise control. The holistic learning approach is realized through spaces designed to support balanced cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The design method encompasses site analysis, user analysis, spatial programming, and the application of inclusive design principles. The resulting design is an integrated inclusive school complex equipped with therapy rooms, resource rooms, inclusive play areas, and disability-friendly circulation. The integration of three approaches—Integrated Inclusive Kindergarten–Elementary School, healing environment, and holistic learning—produces an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable educational environment for all users.
