Abstract
Indonesia's economic conditions indicate that Kudus Regency, one of the regions with the highest contribution to Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), is the processing industry sector. The GRDP value of the processing industry sector in Kudus Regency is 77.71%. However, 90.24% of this sector is sourced from the tobacco processing industry. This condition could cause problems in the region in the future if there is a decline in production or market changes. However, Kudus Regency has potential that can be developed as an effort to diversify the economy, namely by developing MSMEs. In 2021–2022, the number of MSMEs in Kudus Regency increased by 1,329 units. Providing an innovation center is one effort that can be made to develop MSMEs, namely by providing a forum that can support innovation, interaction, and collaboration activities. The use of a blended space approach as a design basis helps realize a physical interaction and collaboration space by combining the concept of a laboratory space with a theater space. The design strategy applied to designing the innovation center includes the use of environmentally friendly materials and a response to regional climatic conditions.
