Abstract
his study aims to: (1) Identify the forms of grammatical cohesion found in opinion texts regarding the Free Nutritious Meal Program in online mass media; (2) Identify the forms of lexical cohesion found in opinion texts about the Free Nutritious Meal Program in online mass media; and (3) Examine the relevance of grammatical and lexical cohesion in online mass media as teaching materials for the Indonesian language. This research is a descriptive qualitative study focusing on grammatical and lexical cohesion in opinion texts in online mass media. Data collection techniques used observation methods and the documentation-note technique, along with source triangulation. Data analysis techniques used distribution techniques with the Basic Element Division (BUL) method and advanced replacement and omission techniques, as well as equivalence techniques with the Basic Determinant Element Separation (PUP) method and advanced Comparison-Equalizing (HBS) techniques. The results found grammatical cohesion in the form of third-person singular references, third-person plural references, and demonstrative references. noun substitution and verb substitution, cause-and-effect, contrast, and addition conjunctions. noun ellipsis. Lexical cohesion found includes full repetition, synonyms, antonyms, hyponyms, collocations, and equivalence. The research results are relevant as Indonesian teaching materials that can be developed into student worksheets and contain elements of listening, reading and viewing, speaking and presenting, and writing for Grade 12 in the Merdeka Curriculum Phase F.
