Abstract
The background of this study is the continued dominance of one-footed play in soccer, resulting in suboptimal passing ability with the non-dominant foot. Previous research has primarily focused on passing training methods and has not specifically compared passing accuracy between the dominant and non-dominant feet. The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in passing accuracy using the dominant and non-dominant feet among players at the Tunas Inti Tengaran Youth Soccer Club. The research method employed a comparative quantitative design. The sample consisted of 20 active players from SSB Tunas Inti Tengaran, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Loughborough Soccer Passing Test (LSPT), observation sheets, a stopwatch, and a camera. The primary research instrument was the LSPT to measure passing accuracy with both feet. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and a paired-sample t-test using IBM SPSS 25. The results showed an average passing time of 46.55 seconds for the dominant foot and 58.80 seconds for the non-dominant foot. The results of the paired-sample t-test showed a t-value of -6.250 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05 and Cohen’s d = -1.398. These results indicate a significant difference with a large effect size between passing ability of the dominant and non-dominant legs. In conclusion, players have better passing skills when using their dominant foot, so more balanced training is needed to improve their non-dominant foot skills.
