Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of varying nozzle diameter of 1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, and 1.7 mm on the process of cutting 1100 aluminum metal with a CNC plasma cutting machine. In the research, several tests will be carried out, namely Surface Roughness Testing using the MITUTOYO SJ210 Surface Roughness Tester and Kerf Width Testing using the INSIZE 1108-200 digital caliper. The method used in this research is experimental. The results of the surface roughness test show that the nozzle diameter variation of 1.7 mm has the smoothest roughness value, while the nozzle diameter variation of 1.3 mm has the roughest roughness value. Kerf width measurement results show that the nozzle diameter variation of 1.3 mm has the narrowest kerf width results, while the nozzle diameter variation of 1.7 mm has the widest kerf width results compared to the other variations
