Abstract

The colet coloring activity at Batik Mahkota Laweyan still uses simple tools without ergonomic considerations, leading to physical complaints among workers. This study aims to redesign the colet coloring table to be more ergonomic based on worker needs and occupational safety principles. The method applied includes Quality Function Deployment (QFD) for design and posture risk evaluation using Nordic Body Map (NBM) and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). Data were collected through questionnaires and direct observation of workers. Results showed that the coloring activity had the highest complaint scores, mainly in the neck, shoulders, and back. Postural analysis indicated a very high risk. The redesigned table, equipped with adjustable height, surface angle, and flexible mobility features, reduced the REBA score from 9 to 3. This proves that design improvements enhance comfort and reduce work-related risks.
