Abstract

The basic skill level of playing basketball is certainly different in every basketball extracurricular at school. These differences certainly affect the achievements of each school. This study aims to compare the level of basic basketball skills between basketball extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Bayat and SMA Negeri 1 Cawas. This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students participating in basketball extracurricular at SMA Negeri 1 Bayat and SMA Negeri 1 Cawas. The sample used in this study were all students participating in basketball extracurricular at SMA Negeri 1 Bayat and SMA Negeri 1 Cawas with a total of 22 students consisting of 11 students from each school. The data collection technique in this study was a survey with a test instrument using a basketball-playing skill test from the Sports College with a test validity of 0.804 and test reliability of 0.893. The collected data were then analyzed using the Independent T-Test which aims to compare the data between the SMA Negeri 1 Bayat group and SMA Negeri 1 Cawas. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference between basketball playing skills between SMA Negeri 1 Bayat and SMA Negeri 1 Cawas with t_count (7,729) < t_table (2,086) for passing skills, t_count (5,409) > t_table (2,086) for dribbling skills, and t_count (6.620) > t_table (2.086) for shooting skills. Based on the significant value of the results of the calculation, a significant value is obtained for all basketball skill test items (passing, dribbling, and shooting) p = 0.000 which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) which means there is a difference a significant difference in basketball playing skills between basketball extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Cawas and SMA Negeri 1 Bayat. Based on the average value calculated from each school, it can be concluded that the basketball extracurricular skills of SMA Negeri 1 Cawas extracurricular students are better than basketball extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Bayat. Thus, it can be concluded that there are differences in basketball playing skills between SMA Negeri 1 Cawas and SMA Negeri 1 Bayat.
