Abstract

The formation of morals can affect the development of the times and technological advances that cause various impacts. The problem that occurs today is that there are still many students who commit moral deviations. This is due to the decline in the morality of students. However, at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura the students showed good morals. This can be seen when students are polite to the teacher and are friendly to guests who come, this is seen when the researcher makes initial observations to the school. In addition, students also routinely carry out dhuha prayers and deposit memorization of the Qur'an, this can be seen from the journal of religious activities and depositing memorization to teachers according to the schedule. This study aims to describe the methods of Islamic religious education teachers in shaping students' morality and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in applying the method at Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura Junior High School. This type of research is a field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The location of this research is SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura which is located on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Sukoharjo Regency, Kartasura District. The data sources in this study are primary and secondary data sources. Data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Then test the validity of the data used, namely technical triangulation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the method of Islamic religious education teachers in shaping students' morality is carried out through: a) exemplary, b) habituation, c) motivation, d) punishment, e) advice. The supporting factors in implementing this method include: 1) the school environment, 2) support and cooperation with teachers and school staff, 3) support and cooperation with parents/guardians of students. While the inhibiting factors are: 1) lack of self-awareness of students, 2) the presence of individuals who do not like the rules or methods made by the school.
