Abstract
This study aims to describe the process, effectiveness, constraints and solutions for the use of audio-visual media collaboration with the True or False strategy to improve understanding of the values of Indonesian democracy in class VIII B students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta for the 2020/2021 academic year. This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches (mixing methods). The qualitative approach design uses case studies, while the quantitative uses pre-experimental design with One Group Pretest Posttest Design. Qualitative data collection techniques using in-depth interviews and observations. Quantitative data collection using tests. The validity of the qualitative data used triangulation of sources and techniques, while the validity of the test items used the Correlation Product Moment formula for rough numbers. Test the reliability of the test instrument using the KR formula. 20. The data analysis in the qualitative approach used interactive analysis, while the quantitative approach used the T-Test. The results showed that tcount 6.872 was greater than ttable 1.771 with a significance level of 0.05. The pretest mean value was 51.92 and increased to 84.64 in the postest. Based on these results it can be concluded that the hypothesis proposed by Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in understanding the values of Indonesian democracy between before (Pretest) and after being treated (Posttest) using audio-visual media collaboration with the True or False strategy in class VIII B students. SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta Academic Year 2020/2021. This difference shows an increase in the average score of understanding the values of Indonesian democracy between before (Pretest) and after being given treatment (Posttest). The obstacle faced in this study is the limited time related to the implementation of the research. Alternative solutions to overcome obstacles, namely researchers make the best use of time and encourage students to remain enthusiastic about participating in learning. The conclusion above implies that if you want to improve your understanding of Indonesian democratic values, one of the right alternatives is to use audio-visual media with the True or False strategy collaboration.
