Abstract
Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) is a disordes of a collection of risk factors for heart disease. The number of cases of MetS in female work can afeect pregnancy and decrease work productivity. The factors that influence the occurrence of MetS are intake. Another factor that can affect the occurrence of MetS is carbohydrate and protein intake. Excessive carbohydrate and protein intake from nutritional adequacy rate requirement and then formed in long-standing fatty acids can result in an individual's chances of experiencing MetS in the future. This research was aimed to explore the relation between carbohydrate intake, protein intake and metabolic syndrome among female workers employed by PT Iskandar Indah Printing Textile. The study uses a cross-sectional study on 34 female workers selected inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data on carbohydrate and protein intake were obtained by a percentage of the energy adequacy rate calculated through the results of the semiquantitative food frequency food, the metline os used to measure waist circumference and the digital sphygmomanometer is used to measure blood pressure, HDL levels were measured by the CHOD PAP method, triglyceride levels were measured by the GPO PAP method and fasting blood glucose levels were measured by the GOD PAP method. Test the relationship between carbohydrate and protein intake with the incidence of MetS using chi-square (p <0.05) and prevalence risk. The study showed that most of female workers have MetS (64,7%), most of the respondents had central obesity waist circumference (41,2%), high triglyseride levels (58,8%), low HDL levels (85,3%), blood pressure high systolic (79,4%) and hifh diastolic blood pressure (82,4%), more carbohydrate intake and less sufficient protein intake (52,9%). There is relationship between carbohydrate intake anda the incidence of MetS (p= 0.014; PR = 4,5; 95%CI = 0.742-27.276) and there is no relationship between protein intake and the incidence of MetS (p = 0,057).
