Abstract
The research aims to (1) describe the English teaching procedure using song to the fourth grade students of MI Tamansari Jaken Pati, (2) identify the problems faced by the teacher in teaching English using song to the fourth grade students of MI Tamansari Jaken Pati. The research type is descriptive qualitative research. To collect the data the researcher used observation and interview. The result shows that the teacher took the procedure using song at to the fourth grade of MI Tamansari Jaken Pati, namely preparing, core activity and follow-up phases where in core activity phases the teacher provided storylines, used body language, filled in the blank lyrics, and gave reward. Provide storylines in teaching learning to purpose the students more focus on learning. The use of body language was used to describe the meaning of song in teaching learning. Filling in the blank lyrics was to increase memorizing vocabulary ability. The researcher found that there were several problems faced by the teacher find in using song to the fourth grade students of MI Tamansari Jaken Pati, namely lack of English knowledge, media learning used, and seating arrangement.
