Abstract
This study aims to reverse engineering or redesign of a centrifugal rotary pump by means of manual and CMM measurements. The material used is the centrifugal rotary pump cap. With the manual measurement process and CMM it is expected that the designers can find out the effectiveness of the measurement results and the quality of the dimensions. In this study also compared the dimensions of the design size generated by manual and CMM measurements. In the part redesign process, the design stages begin with manual measurement using a calipers. Then make a 2D sketch that matches the part being measured. The next step is to create a 3D design using SolidWorks. In the CMM measurement process using a 3 axis CNC milling routing machine. Then make a 2D sketch in accordance with the measured part. Next is to create a 3D SolidWorks design. The research data shows that the results obtained from reverse engineering using the CMM measurement method are more accurate because the level of accuracy reaches 0.01mm. The process of measuring parts is also easier with the method of measuring CMM and the dimensions of the resulting parts do not differ much from the original parts
