Abstract
This class of action research aims to determine the increase of learning outcomes and confident students by drill method on the subject of mathematics calculating operation material in class VB MI Muhammadiyah Gonilan. This type of research is class action research with drill method. The study was conducted over 2 cycles with action planning stages, action execution, observation results and reflections. After a proven study conducted drill methods can improve students ' confidence in the subjects of mathematics operation material calculate fractional numbers in class V. It can be proved by the increasing confidence students who previously dared Forward class as long as the learning lasted as much as 17.2% increased to 79.3%, actively delivering opinions or ideas that were previously 13.8% increased to 72.4%, answering questions from teachers who previously 20.7% increased to 86.2%, Working on the problem independently which previously 27.6% increased to 93.1% and the results of the previous study 34.5% which reached the value of the KKM ≥ 70 increased to 89.6%. Thus it can be concluded that the drill method can improve students ' learning outcomes and confidence.
