Abstract

This study aims to improve the competency of students of class X Accounting 2 in SMK N 1 Banyudono in the academic year 2018/2019 in Basic Accounting subjects through the Explicit Instruction learning model. This type of research is classroom action research for three cycles. The research subjects were class X Accounting 2 students of N 1 Banyudono Vocational School, amounting to 35 students. Data collection techniques used include documentation, tests and observations. The results showed an increase in student competence by 20.95% from 62.06% before the action became 83.01% in the third cycle. Student competency in cycle I was 73.23% to 79.69% in cycle II, then increased by 83.01% in cycle III. Based on the results of the study, that the application of the Explicit Instruction learning model can improve the competence of students of class X Accounting 2 in SMK N 1 Banyudono in the academic year 2018/2019 done correctly and correctly.
