Abstract

This study aims to describe students conceptual and procedural errors and the causes of those errors in integer operation on the topic of three dimensional vectors. This study was conducted at the 6th grade XI of TITL in SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta. This is qualitative study. The data collection techniques used in this study are test, interview, and documentation. The data analysis techniques applied through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Method triangulation is used to ensure the validity of the data. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the conceptual error experienced by students was errors in addition, subtraction, and multiplication of integers. The causes of students’ errors in the conceptual errors were their lack of understanding of the principles and the basic ideas related to integer, (2) the procedural error experienced by students was error in the procedure of multiplication of integer. The cause of students’ error in the procedural errors was applying the rules of integers operations incorrectly.
