Abstract

Disorder in concentration of learning is a condition where the individual is not able to focus and keep thoughts of anything related to the object of learning. In mathematics learning, disorder of learning concentration means the condition in which individuals are unable to focus and maintain thoughts of objects in mathematics. The results of previous studies indicate that the difficulty of learning mathematics makes students feel tense, tired, depressed even to cause stress which ultimately disrupts the concentration of learning. Mathematics learning concentration disorder are vulnerable to various levels of education and have a negative impact on students' academic performance and disrupt the conduciveness of learning in the classroom. This study has purpose to test the effectiveness of classroom management to reduce the mathematics learning concentration disorder at student SD Muhammadiyah 4 Kandangsapi Surakarta. The measurement in this research uses the scale mathematics of learning concentration with aspects: cognitive, affective and psychomotor. This study included the type of quasi-experimental research with purposive sampling technique. The group of Muhammadiyah 4 Kandangsapi Surakarta elementary school students that included in the criterian is VA and VB class students who were selected after going through the screening stage based on teacher recommendations obtained through observation, interviews and document notes in mathematics learning and checked their suitability with the results of mathematics learning concentration disorder questionnaires . Then the two classes were divided into two groups, namely the control group (KK) and the experimental group (KE). KE was given treatment in the form of classroom management intervention while the KK was not treated. The classroom management module material consists of preventive, active learning and corrective stages. The results of hypothesis testing in this study using the Paired T Test. Different test pretest-posttest KE obtained Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 (p <0.01) means that there is a significant difference between pretest-posttest in KE which shows there is a significant decrease in the mathematics learning concentration disorder at KE after being given classroom management intervention. While the Independent Sample T Test on the KE and KK posttest result was obtained Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 (p <0.01) means that there is a significant difference in the group given the intervention with the group not given the intervention. Thus it can be concluded that classroom management interventions effectively reduce the mathematics learning concentration disorder at students of SD Muhammadiyah 4 Kandangsapi Surakarta
