Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) Describe the constructive structure in the novel Sepasang Kaos Kaki Hitam by Ari Ginting . (2) Describe the educational values contained in the novel Sepasang Kaos Kaki Hitam by Ari Ginting. (3) Describe the novel relevance of Sepasang Kaos Kaki Hitam by Ari Ginting in learning literature in high school. The data in this study are in the form of words, paragraphs and sentences in novels that show the value of education. The data collection technique of this study is using referral techniques, note-taking techniques and interviews. The validity of the data used in this study is theoretical triagulation, and data triagulation. The results of this study describe (1) the building structure of the novel namely the theme, facts of the story and the means of storytelling, (2) The value of education contained in the novel Sepasang Kaos Kaki Hitam by Ari Ginting includes: religious values, honest moral values shown by Ari's figure when assessing Mevally's appearance, tolerance value is the most found value most of the existence of tolerance attitude Mevally to Ari who have different beliefs, caring value is shown by the concern of the character about the situation of other figures or concern about the health of other figures and (3) novel Sepasang Kaos Kaki Hitam by Ari Ginting relevance as teaching materials in high school students are very suitable because they contain three important aspects of literary teaching materials, namely aspects of language, psychological aspects, aspects of the cultural background of students
