Abstract

This study aims to determine the development, feasibility and effectiveness of the use of interactive learning media as a learning media for Social Sciences (IPS) material in class VII SMP. The research method used in is Research and Development (R & D) using the waterfall model development model. Development of interactive learning media as a medium in learning activities of Social Sciences (IPS) through stages of analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data collection techniques used in the form of observations, interviews, questionnaires, pre-test and post-test. The analysis technique is the feasibility and analysis of the initial data using the normality test, the final data analysis with the N-gain test and the Wilcoxon Matched Pairs test. This research shows that the assessment of media experts is in the very feasible category with an average value of 83% and assessment by material experts in the very feasible category with an average value of 84.34%, and in the assessment by respondents / students in the category strongly agree with an average value of 93%. Based on the Wilcoxon Matched Pairs test results obtained asymp results sig which <0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is a difference in learning outcomes in the control class and experimental class. Thus it was concluded that interactive learning media used effectively to improve students' understanding and learning outcomes.
