Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the social environment and financial literacy on the lifestyle of students of Accounting Education Study Program class of 2014. This study included quantitative research with surveys using questionnaire method. The object of this study is students of the 2014 UMS Accounting Education Study Program totaling 238 students with a sample of 119 students. Data analysis techniques used are multiple linear regression test, t test, F test, R2 test, and relative and effective contribution. The results of the study using regression analysis obtained regression equation of: Y = 0.405+ 0.688. X1 + 0.430.X2. Equations show that lifestyle is influenced by the social environment and financial literacy. The conclusions taken are: 1) the social environment influences lifestyle can be accepted. This is based on multiple liner regression (t test), it is known that thitung> ttable, namely 9,146> 1,980 and significance value 0,000 <0,05 with a relative contribution of 74,68% and effective contribution of 46,49%. 2) financial literacy influences lifestyle can be accepted. This is based on multiple linear regression (t test), it is known that thitung> ttable, namely 3.961> 1.980 and significance value <0.05, which is 0.000 with a relative contribution of 25.31% and effective contribution of 15.77%. 3) the social environment and financial literacy affect the lifestyle can be accepted. This is based on the analysis of multiple linear regression variants (F test), it is known that Fhitung> Ftable, namely 95.763> 3.07 and a significance value of <0.05, that is, 0.000.4) The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.623 shows that the magnitude of the interaction environment and literacy finance towards lifestyle is 62.3% while 37.7% is influenced by other variables not examined by researchers.
