Abstract

The Panji story becomes one of the central stories in Javanese society. The Panji story is used as an instrument to observe and perceive the cultural conditions of the intergenerational era. Modern era is when society is transforming and undergoing modernization that needs awareness of ethical study. This study aims to identify Javanese ethical values in Panji story, formulate ethical values in current Javenese society, and develop ethical value of Panji story in Indonesian Language textbook material. This research is a qualitative research with ethnographic theoretical reference. This research resulted in several findings, amongst are (1) Ethics existed in Panji story with mutual principle of 8 data and respect principle application of 14 data. (2) Data obtained related to transformation of Javanese ethical value with mutual principle and respect principle application in Panji Asmarabangun Story on women emancipation aspect (20 data), conflict exploration (18 data), vagabondage spirit (14 data), politics and law system (20 data), social life (20 data), culture (7 data), and religion (6 data).The findings show that ethical occurrence in Javanese society and wider society has shifted and is being strengthened by experts’ view about ethical change undergoing at current time. (3)Usage of Indonesian language learning material in review material of SMP 8th grade with KD. 4.11. Thus, study of ethical transformation of Panji story in Javanese society can be used as Indonesian language material and can be used as a form of conservation of intergeneration value of sources taken from local wisdom.
